Joseph recognizes, remembers and reveals

Joseph is in the position of governor over all of Egypt when his 10 brothers appear before him for food from the horrific famine. It is an intense display of waiting on God for the reunion of the family. One main theme concerning Joseph was on forgiveness (please refer to Dr. Stephen Marmer published work from UCLA Medical School, Prager University).

Genesis 34-36, Matthew 11

Jacob and his family have trouble in Shechem. It is through this trouble that Jacob calls his family to purify themselves of idols and travels to Bethel.  Jesus' ministerial opposition increases as His teachings becomes more specific that He is the Messiah.

Today's episode is intense. We learn about conflict in challenging circumstances, despite the tangible presence of God in both the Old and New Testament readings. Jacob's name changes to Israel in Genesis 32 and Jesus sends out His disciples with difficult instructions that we live out today too.
